Every Taiwan visa route, explained

Taiwan has a route for every purpose — around 60 nationalities enter visa-free for 14–90 days, most others apply for an R.O.C. Visitor Visa online then lodge it at an overseas mission, and six Southeast/South Asian nationalities can use the free online Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC) instead. PRC, Hong Kong and Macao passport holders use a separate National Immigration Agency entry-permit system entirely. Short visits for tourism, business or family/friends. Around 60 nationalities enter visa-free for 14–90 days; the rest complete the online application form (visawebapp.boca.gov.tw) and lodge a Visitor Visa at an R.O.C. overseas mission. Visitor visas cover stays of up to six months.

Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC) — online

Free online authorisation from the National Immigration Agency for citizens of Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam who hold qualifying documents (e.g. valid visas or residence documents of certain other countries) — an alternative to the consular visitor visa.
