Every Armenia visa route, explained

Armenia keeps short visits simple — around 65 nationalities enter visa-free for up to 180 days a year, most others get a visitor e-Visa online at evisa.mfa.am (USD 8 or USD 39), and the countries on the MFA's invitation-only list apply at an Armenian embassy with an invitation. Visitor visa (V) / visa-free visit

Short visits for tourism, business or family/friends. Around 65 nationalities enter visa-free for up to 180 days during one year; most others apply online via the official e-Visa portal (USD 8 for up to 21 days, USD 39 for up to 120 days) or at an Armenian embassy. Citizens of the countries on the official invitation-only list can obtain a visitor visa only at an Armenian diplomatic mission abroad, with an invitation.

Work & business

Temporary and permanent residency

For stays beyond visa terms — work, study, family or long-term stay in Armenia — a temporary or permanent residence permit is required, handled by the Migration and Citizenship Service. Visa-free visitors staying past their visa-free period also need a residence permit.

Visa extension (in Armenia)

Visitor visas are extended by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia — submit the visa extension application with the reason for extending your stay. Armenian visas are issued for a maximum of 120 days with the possibility to extend for another 60 days.
