Visitor visa (e-Visa): Indian citizen in India → Armenia
Indian citizens need a visa for Armenia — the easiest official route is the MFA's e-Visa portal (evisa.mfa.am): a visitor visa for up to 21 days of stay (USD 8) or up to 120 days (USD 39), applied for entirely online and processed in up to 3 working days.
Armenia's visitor visa for tourism and other short visits, issued electronically via the official e-Visa portal (evisa.mfa.am) — up to 21 or up to 120 days of stay, no embassy visit needed.
- Validity
- Visitor e-Visa for up to 21 days (Short-Term) or up to 120 days (Long-Term) of stay; Armenian visas are issued for a maximum of 120 days
- Entries
- Single entry or multi entry — selected in the application
- Max stay per visit
- Up to 120 days per visa, extendable by another 60 days by the Migration and Citizenship Service
When to start
Start 5–21 days before your travel date.
India is not on Armenia's official visa-free lists — holders of all other national passports and travel documents, including UN Laissez-Passer, are required to obtain an entry visa. Note the temporary exemption: from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027, Indian nationals who hold a valid residence permit of the US, an EU member state, a Schengen state, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Oman (valid for at least six months from the date of entry) are exempt from the visa requirement and can stay up to 180 days within a one-year period.
Complete the application online on the MFA's official e-Visa portal — choose Short-Term (up to 21 days of stay) or Long-Term (up to 120 days), single or multi entry, and state the purpose of your visit and the date you will arrive in Armenia.
A passport scan and a facial photo are required for the submission of your visa application. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after your intended departure from Armenia and have at least 2 pages free of visas, marks or stamps. Supporting documents — air ticket, hotel reservation, insurance, proof of funds — are recommended.
Pay online via the official E-payments system: USD 8 for the visitor visa with up to 21 days of stay, USD 39 for up to 120 days. The fee is non-refundable, even if the application is declined. Confirm the e-mail you receive within 24 hours to complete the submission.
E-VISA processing time is up to 3 working days. After payment you receive an application ID by e-mail and can check the status of your application online.
Print and bring along your e-Visa — airlines and immigration authorities are likely to require it for verification. There is no visa sticker to collect: enter Armenia through a border-control point with your passport and the printed e-Visa.

Gotchas to watch
- The e-Visa fee is non-refundable — it is not returned even if the application is declined.
- The data you enter must be truthful and match your documents — discrepancies can mean denied entry to Armenia at the border.
- The confirmation e-mail is valid for 24 hours — confirm it in time or you must restart the submission.
- Granting a visa is a sovereign right of the issuing state: refusal is not subject to refund or appeal except in cases provided by the law.
- Temporary exemption until 1 July 2027: Indian nationals holding a qualifying residence permit (US, EU/Schengen state, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Oman — valid at least six months from entry) can currently enter Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days — check the official MFA list before paying for a visa.
- Need more time in Armenia? Visitor visas are extended (by up to another 60 days) by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
