Nigeria is on the official MFA list of countries whose citizens (and travel-document holders) can apply for an Armenian visitor visa only at the diplomatic representations or consular posts of the Republic of Armenia abroad — and only with an invitation. The e-Visa portal is not available for this passport. The MFA notes this limitation is obsolete for citizens of Armenian nationality.
Invitations are submitted in Armenia through the unified portal e-request.am — by legal entities registered in the Republic of Armenia, government agencies and local self-government bodies, or embassies, consular posts and international organizations accredited in Armenia. Individuals submit invitations to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The consular fee for the invitation is AMD 5,000 (five thousand), paid at any commercial bank to the treasury account or online via the official e-payments link; the receipt is submitted together with the invitation.
With the invitation in place, apply for the visitor visa at the diplomatic representation or consular post of the Republic of Armenia accredited for your country. Complete the official visa application form (downloadable from the MFA visa page) and bring your passport and supporting documents.
Wait for the decision on your visitor visa — the MFA does not publish a fixed processing time for consular applications, so allow several weeks before your trip. Note that a foreigner who gets a refusal to obtain an Armenian visa cannot enter the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
Enter Armenia through a border-control point with your passport and visa. Armenian visas are issued for a maximum of 120 days with the possibility to extend for another 60 days — extensions are handled by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Gotchas to watch
- The invitation comes first — without an invitation submitted in Armenia, Armenian missions cannot accept a visitor-visa application from this passport.
- The MFA notes the invitation limitation is obsolete for citizens of the listed countries who are of Armenian nationality (ethnic Armenians).
- The Armenian mission accredited for your country may be located in a neighbouring country — check the official list of embassies and consulates on mfa.am.
- If the visa is refused you cannot enter Armenia; refusal is not subject to refund or appeal except in cases provided by the law.
