United States is on the MFA's official list of countries whose citizens — with all types of passports — are unilaterally exempt from the requirement to obtain a visa to enter the Republic of Armenia. No visa is needed for a short visit — this is a visa exemption, not a visa.
Visa-free visitors can stay in Armenia for no more than 180 days during one year (unless another term is defined by an international agreement of the Republic of Armenia). For a longer stay, apply for a residence permit from the Migration and Citizenship Service during your stay.

Gotchas to watch
