Tourist e-Visa: Chinese citizen in China โ Laos
Chinese citizens can apply online for the Lao e-Visa at the official portal โ fill in the application, upload your passport bio page and photo, pay the fee, then download the eVisa Approval Letter from your email and print it to show at the border. The stay permit is 30 days.
Lao PDR official e-Visa for tourism โ applied for online at the official Lao eVisa portal, with the Approval Letter delivered by email and presented to immigration on arrival.
- Validity
- The eVisa is valid for a maximum of 60 days after you receive the Approval Letter; the stay permit is 30 days. You may enter Laos any date from when you receive the approval letter until its expiry date (60 days after receiving it).
- Entries
- Single entry per eVisa Approval Letter.
- Max stay per visit
- 30 days (the stay permit of the eVisa).
When to start
Start 3โ14 days before your travel date.
Go to the official Lao eVisa website, click Apply Now and enter your email to receive a verification code, then fill in your personal information and travel details.
Upload scanned colour copies of your passport bio page (covering the whole bio page including its MRZ) and a 4x6 cm photograph taken no longer than 6 months ago.
Pay the eVisa fee online using a secured payment method. Accepted methods include VISA, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, WeChat Pay, Alipay and UnionPay.
When your eVisa application is approved, an Approval Letter is sent to the email address you registered with. Download it from your email.
Print out the eVisa Approval Letter and present it to the Immigration Officer when you arrive in Laos.

The Lao e-Visa is applied for entirely online at the official portal; there is no embassy interview. The same portal serves all eligible nationalities.
