Every Serbia visa route, explained

Serbia has a route for every purpose — short visits (visa-free for around 90 nationalities including the EU/Schengen area, the UK and the US, or a short-stay Visa C applied for at a Serbian embassy/consulate or online via the official welcometoserbia.gov.rs portal), plus long-stay Visa D routes for employment, education and family reunification that lead to temporary residence. Routes with verified guides link straight to them; the rest link to the official mfa.gov.rs pages.

Transit

Transit through Serbia

Transit over the territory of Serbia is covered by the short-stay Visa C (or is visa-free if your nationality is). A transit-visa applicant must hold an entry visa for the country they are entering after Serbia, where one is required.

Other routes

Temporary residence (after a Visa D)

Foreigners who need a visa and intend to stay in Serbia beyond a short visit obtain a long-stay Visa D and then apply for a temporary residence permit, with evidence depending on the grounds for residence (work, study, family and others) — managed through the official portal for foreign nationals.
