Every Peru visa route, explained

Peru has a route for every purpose — short visits are visa-free for most of the Americas, the EU/EEA and much of Europe, Oceania and a few Asian states (usually 90 days, some 183); everyone else applies in person for an ordinary tourist visa at a Peruvian consulate (no e-visa or visa on arrival). China and India are visa-free only with a qualifying US/Canada/UK/Australia/Schengen visa or residence. Routes with verified guides link straight to them; the rest link to the official gob.pe pages.

Visit & tourism

Work & business

Business entry (Negocios)

Short business visits. Many exonerated nationalities may also enter for business without a visa (per the MFA table's Negocios column); others need a business visa from a Peruvian consulate. Business visitors may not take up paid local employment.

Family & residence

Residence & work (Migraciones)

Longer stays — work, family, study and other residence permits (calidades migratorias) are handled by the Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones once you are in Peru or via a corresponding visa. Andean Community and Mercosur nationals have their own residence routes.
