Tourist Visa (T) — e-Visa: Egyptian citizen in United States → Cambodia
Egyptian citizens living in the United States need a visa for Cambodia — the Tourist Visa (Visa T) is issued online, so you apply from the United States (or anywhere) on the official e-Visa portal exactly as you would at home (USD 30, single entry, 3-month validity, stay up to 1 month), approved in about 3 business days. All travellers must also submit the Cambodia e-Arrival card before arrival.
Cambodia's tourist visa, issued electronically via the official e-Visa portal (evisa.gov.kh) — single entry, valid 3 months from issue, for a stay of up to 1 month.
- Validity
- 3 months (starting from the date of issue)
- Entries
- Single entry only
- Max stay per visit
- Up to 1 month
When to start
Start 7–14 days before your travel date.
Cambodia's visa exemption covers ASEAN nationals and a few other passports — the official e-Visa site lists the exempt nationalities, and Egypt is not among them. For tourism you apply online for the Tourist Visa (Visa T) on the official e-Visa portal (evisa.gov.kh), run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Fill in the secure online e-Visa form on evisa.gov.kh — the Application menu walks you through security verification, then personal, passport and travel details, then review. A group submission can include up to 10 applications, and the passport-reader feature fills the form from an uploaded passport image.
Review your application, then pay the Visa T fee — USD 30 (single entry, 3-month validity, stay up to 1 month) — by credit card or one of the portal's other secure payment options. The fee is non-refundable.
Processing takes about 3 business days. Get an approval letter within 3 days — your approved e-Visa arrives by email, or you can download it from the portal's Check & Change page.
All travellers must fill in the Cambodia e-Arrival even when a visa has been granted — submit it online within 7 days before arrival to avoid queueing at the immigration counter.
Bring your printed e-Visa certificate to show immigration at the checkpoint. e-Visa entry is supported at Techo, Siem Reap Angkor and Sihanoukville international airports and the Bavet and Tropaeng Kreal land checkpoints — not all border checkpoints support e-Visa, so check the port list before you travel.

Where you'll apply
You apply online from the United States (or anywhere) — the process is identical regardless of residence. The whole thing (form, payment, approval letter by email) is on the official e-Visa portal, with no US embassy, consulate or visa-centre step. Enter through an e-Visa supported port: Techo, Siem Reap Angkor or Sihanoukville international airports, or the Bavet and Tropaeng Kreal land checkpoints.

Gotchas to watch
- The e-Visa fee is non-refundable, and an e-Visa does not automatically entitle you to enter — immigration makes the final decision at the port of entry.
- Not all border checkpoints support e-Visa — Cham Yeam (Koh Kong) and Poi Pet (Banteay Meanchey) are temporarily closed for e-Visa entry until further notice.
- You must travel with the passport for which the e-Visa is issued — a second passport won't be accepted.
- The Visa T is single entry only, valid 3 months from the date of issue, for a stay of up to 1 month.
- False or misleading statements can lead to permanent refusal of an e-Visa, denial of entry or prosecution.
- All travellers must also submit the Cambodia e-Arrival card — recommended within 7 days before arrival.
