Short-term visa (C) — e-Visa: Egyptian citizen in Egypt → Georgia
Egyptian citizens need a short-term visa for Georgia — the easiest official route is the e-Visa Portal (USD 20 + 2% service fee, decided in at least 5 working days), applied for entirely online; a Georgian Embassy or Consular Office application is also possible.
Georgia's ordinary short-term visa for tourism and other short visits, issued electronically via the official e-Visa Portal — no embassy visit needed; total stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
- Validity
- Issued as a multiple-entry electronic visa — e.g. 120-day validity with 30 days of stay, or 180-day validity with 90 days of stay
- Entries
- Multiple entry
- Max stay per visit
- Total stay must not exceed 90 days in any 180-day period
When to start
Start 10–21 days before your travel date.
The official Georgian consular dataset lists Egypt under VISA REQUIRED: for short-term visit purposes you must obtain an ordinary visa before entering Georgia. Check the exemptions first — holders of a valid visa or residence permit of one of the officially listed countries (EU member states, the US, the UK and others) can enter and stay 90 days in any 180-day period without a Georgian visa.
Complete the visa application online in English on the official e-Visa Portal (evisa.gov.ge) — no embassy appointment or original documents are needed for the e-Visa. Applications can only be submitted while you are abroad.
After submitting, a verification message is sent to the e-mail address in your application. You must confirm it within 1 hour, otherwise the application is cancelled and you have to start again.
Pay the state duty by Visa or MasterCard within 5 hours of the e-mail confirmation, or the application is cancelled. The e-Visa fee is 20 USD plus a 2% service fee and is not refundable.
The Ministry decides on e-Visa applications in not less than 5 working days — apply well before your trip.
Your e-Visa arrives by e-mail as a PDF — print it and bring it when you travel. At the Georgian border you must be able to present your passport, a document proving the purpose of travel, proof of accommodation, travel and health insurance, and proof of sufficient financial means.

Gotchas to watch
- The application form must be completed in English.
- Every traveller — regardless of age — needs a separate application and a separate e-Visa.
- Mistakes cannot be corrected after submission: you must create (and pay for) a new application.
- The verification e-mail is valid for only 1 hour, and the state duty must be paid within 5 hours — miss either and the application is cancelled.
- The e-Visa fee is not refundable, even if the application is denied.
- Since 1 January 2026 all tourists must hold health and accident insurance covering at least 30,000 GEL for the whole stay.
- An e-Visa (like any visa) does not guarantee entry — the Border Police make the final decision at the checkpoint.
