Visit — e-Visa: Australian citizen in United States → Egypt
Australian citizens can apply for Egypt's e-Visa online — single- or multiple-entry, up to 30 days per stay. If you live in the United States, the process is identical — it is applied for online wherever you are.

When to start
Start 7–21 days before your travel date.
Create an account on visa2egypt.gov.eg with your email address.
Sign in, fill in the application form and pay by card. Create your application at least 7 days before departure.
You must create the e-Visa application at least 7 days before you travel.
After you submit and pay, your application is processed; you receive the e-Visa by email to print.
What you'll need
- Valid passport — A passport valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Egypt. ✓ verified

Where you'll apply
The e-Visa is applied for entirely online — no visa centre, appointment or interview. Applicants living in the United States apply on the official portal; confirm your eligibility there.

Gotchas to watch
- Egypt's e-Visa is applied for entirely online at least 7 days before travel — you complete the form and pay the fee by card. On arrival, carry your printed e-Visa, your passport, a travel itinerary, and (for tourists) a hotel booking or (for business/family visits) a supporting letter.
- Apply only on the official portal (visa2egypt.gov.eg) — many lookalike sites charge extra fees.
- Create your application at least 7 days before departure.
- An e-Visa is permission to travel, not a guarantee of entry — the officer decides on arrival.
