Every Azerbaijan visa route, explained

Azerbaijan has a route for every purpose — short visits (visa-free for CIS citizens, Türkiye and a small set of partners; otherwise the ASAN e-Visa online for ~95 nationalities — single entry, 90-day validity, 30-day stay, USD 20 + USD 9 — or an embassy visa), plus transit, work, study and residence routes. Transit

Transit visa

For passing through Azerbaijani territory en route to a third country. The single-entry state fee is the same as a short-stay visa (USD 20); confirm requirements with an Azerbaijani mission before you travel.

Study visa

For foreigners admitted to study at an educational institution in Azerbaijan. Applied for through an Azerbaijani embassy or consulate with a document confirming enrolment; leads to a temporary residence permit for longer courses.
