ASAN e-Visa (single entry): Indonesian citizen in Indonesia → Azerbaijan
Indonesian citizens need a visa for Azerbaijan and can apply online for the ASAN e-Visa (evisa.gov.az): a single-entry visa valid 90 days with a 30-day stay. The fee is USD 20 plus a USD 9 service fee, issued in 3 working days (or 3 hours urgent).
Azerbaijan's electronic visa for short visits — tourism, business or visiting family and friends. Issued online through the official ASAN Visa portal as a single-entry visa valid 90 days with a 30-day stay; no embassy visit needed.
- Validity
- Valid for 90 days from issue, with permission to stay up to 30 days; single entry
- Entries
- Single entry
- Max stay per visit
- Up to 30 days within the 90-day validity of the e-Visa
When to start
Start 3–14 days before your travel date.
The e-Visa is issued only to citizens of countries approved by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Indonesia is on the official ASAN Visa list of countries eligible for an electronic visa, so you can apply online instead of visiting an embassy.
Create your application on the official ASAN Visa portal (evisa.gov.az), entering the required data directly into the system and uploading a copy of your passport photo page. Apply at least 3 working days before arrival for a standard e-Visa, or 3 hours before for the urgent option.
Pay electronically through the system: a USD 20 state fee plus a USD 9 service fee. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay or JCB, and the card does not have to be in your name. The fee is non-refundable if the application is rejected.
A standard e-Visa is issued within 3 working days; the urgent e-Visa is issued within 3 hours regardless of holidays and non-working days. The outcome is sent to your e-mail address and can also be checked on the portal.
Your e-Visa is sent to your e-mail as an A4 form — print it out and present it together with your travel document at the Azerbaijani border checkpoint. The e-Visa is not attached inside the passport.
If your temporary stay exceeds 15 days you must register at your place of stay with the State Migration Service (your hotel usually does this). No state fee is required for the registration.
What you'll need
- Valid passport (travel document) — The period of validity of your travel document must be at least 3 months longer than the expiry date of the e-Visa to be issued. ✓ verified
- Scanned passport photo page — A clear copy of the photo page of your travel document, uploaded to the ASAN Visa system in JPG, JPEG or PNG format (up to 10 MB). If the copy cannot be read by the system, the e-Visa is rejected. ✓ verified
- Payment card (Visa / Mastercard / UnionPay / JCB) — The fee is paid electronically via the system using Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay or JCB; the card does not have to be under your name. ✓ verified
- Printed e-Visa form — The e-Visa is sent to your e-mail address in A4 format; print it and present it with your travel document at the border. In case of loss it can be re-printed from the portal or e-mail. ✓ verified
Where you'll apply
You apply online from outside Azerbaijan through the official ASAN Visa portal (evisa.gov.az) — no embassy visit is needed. The e-Visa is sent to your e-mail; print it and present it at the border.

Gotchas to watch
- The e-Visa is single entry — it becomes invalid once used to leave, and you can only apply for a new one after leaving Azerbaijan.
- Your passport must stay valid for at least 3 months beyond the e-Visa's expiry date.
- The fee (USD 20 + USD 9) is non-refundable, even if the e-Visa is rejected.
- The e-Visa does not grant any right to carry out paid labour activity — that needs a work visa and work permit.
- Apply at least 3 working days before arrival for the standard e-Visa; use the urgent option (3 hours) only if you are pressed for time.
- An e-Visa is an initial document permitting entry — the border authorities make the final decision at the checkpoint.
