Kazakhstan has a bilateral visa-free regime with Uzbekistan covering holders of all categories of passports (diplomatic, service and ordinary), regardless of the purpose of the trip — so no visa is needed for a short visit.
There is no time limit on the visa-free stay, but if you need to stay for work, study or another activity that needs a permit you must obtain the appropriate entry visa. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
You enter visa-free on arrival. Register your place of stay within three working days — hotels do this automatically; a private host registers you on my.gov.uz. Keep the registration slip until you leave.

Gotchas to watch
