Tourist e-Visa (electronic entry visa): Egyptian citizen in United States → Uzbekistan
Egyptian citizens living in the United States are on Uzbekistan's Appendix 1 list and can apply online for a tourist e-Visa at e-visa.gov.uz from the US (or anywhere) — USD 20 for single entry, decided in 2 working days, stay up to 30 days; the process is identical regardless of residence.

When to start

Egypt is on Uzbekistan's official Appendix 1 — the list of countries whose citizens can obtain an electronic entry visa (e-visa.gov.uz) or a simplified tourist visa. The e-Visa is issued for tourism; for other purposes an inviting organisation must apply to the MFA.
Complete the application online in English on the official e-Visa portal: choose your country, travel-document type and purpose, enter your dates and personal data, and upload your photo and passport data page. Apply at least 3 working days before your planned arrival.
Enter your e-mail address; the portal sends a digital code that you enter to activate the application. The result of processing is sent to the same e-mail address.
Pay the USD 20 consular fee for a single-entry e-Visa through the payment system integrated into the portal (an additional bank fee applies). The fee is charged only for considering the application and is not refundable.
The application is considered within 2 working days, not counting the day you file it. If approved, the e-Visa is sent to your e-mail as a PDF.
Carry your e-Visa in printed or electronic form together with the passport used in the application. After arrival, register your place of stay within three working days (hotels do this automatically).
What you'll need
- Valid passport (travel document) — A valid international passport with at least six months' validity remaining from the date of entry into Uzbekistan; you must travel on the same passport used in the e-Visa application. ✓ verified
- Digital photo (35x45 mm) — A facial photo of 35x45 mm at 300 dpi, image size no more than 1 MB, meeting the portal's photo standards. ✓ verified
- Scan of the passport data page — A readable electronic copy of the main data page of the travel document, uploaded in the 'Photo and passport' section (file size no more than 500 Kb). ✓ verified
- Payment card (Visa) — A card to pay the USD 20 consular fee via the international payment system integrated into the portal; the applicant does not have to be the cardholder. ✓ verified
- Place-of-stay registration — Registration of your place of stay, done within three working days of arrival — automatically by hotels, or by a private host on my.gov.uz. Keep the registration slip for exit control. ✓ verified
Where you'll apply
You apply online from the United States (or anywhere) via e-visa.gov.uz — the process is identical regardless of residence and there is no US visa-centre step for the tourist e-Visa. For non-tourism purposes an inviting organisation in Uzbekistan must apply to the MFA instead.

Gotchas to watch
- The e-Visa is issued only for tourism — if your purpose is work, study or media, an inviting organisation in Uzbekistan must apply to the MFA for a visa instead.
- You must enter Uzbekistan on the exact passport used in the application; arriving on a different passport means entry is denied.
- The USD 20 consular fee is charged just for considering the application and is not refundable, even if the e-Visa is refused.
- Apply at least 3 working days before travel — decisions take 2 working days, not counting the filing date.
- Register your place of stay within three working days of arrival; hotels do this automatically, private hosts via my.gov.uz. Failure to register carries administrative liability.
