Visit — eVISA: Nepali citizen in United States → Malaysia
Nepali citizens need a Malaysia eVISA — apply online on the official portal, then submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card before arrival. If you live in the United States, the process is identical — it is applied for online wherever you are.
Malaysia eVISA for a short social visit (tourism, visiting relatives, business). Applied for online; you receive a Short Term Social Visit Pass on arrival.
- Validity
- Valid 3 months from the date of issuance; stay up to 30 days per entry. Confirm on the official portal (malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my).
- Entries
- Single entry
- Max stay per visit
- Up to 30 days per entry; a Short Term Social Visit Pass is granted on arrival at the Malaysian entry point (length confirmed by the immigration officer).
When to start
Start 7–30 days before your travel date.
Your nationality is on Malaysia's list of countries that require a visa, so you need a valid Malaysia eVISA to enter.
Scan and upload your passport bio page, a white-background photo, your return/onward ticket and proof of accommodation.
Apply only on the official Malaysian eVisa website — malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my (beware lookalike sites).
Pay the eVISA fee online (varies by nationality). Fees are non-refundable if the application is rejected.
Within 3 days before arrival, complete and submit the mandatory Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).

Gotchas to watch
- Apply only on the official portal malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my — third-party lookalike sites charge extra and are not authorised.
- An eVISA does not guarantee entry — a Short Term Social Visit Pass is granted by the officer at the Malaysian entry point.
- Everyone must submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within 3 days before arrival.
