Indonesian citizens who live in the United States do NOT need a Mexican visa for tourism — a valid US visa or US permanent residence (Resident Card) exempts you; you receive a Visitor Permit for up to 180 days on entry to Mexico.
Indonesian citizens who hold a valid US visa or US permanent residence do not need a Mexican visa to visit Mexico for tourism — present the passport with the valid US visa or US Resident Card and receive a Visitor Permit (up to 180 days) at the port of entry.

When to start

Because you hold a valid US visa or US permanent residence, you do not need a Mexican visa to visit Mexico for tourism, business or transit. Check that your US visa or US Resident Card is valid and unexpired.
If you rely on US permanent residence rather than a US visa, you must present your valid, unexpired US Resident Card together with your passport on entry.
Travel with your passport plus the valid US visa (in the passport) or your US Resident Card. Both documents must remain valid for the whole of your stay in Mexico.
At the Mexican port of entry, present your passport and valid US visa or US Resident Card. The immigration officer admits you visa-free and grants a Visitor Permit (FMM) of up to 180 days for tourism.

Gotchas to watch
- The waiver only applies while your US visa or US Resident Card is valid and unexpired — if it has expired you must apply for a Mexican visa at a Mexican consulate.
- Carry the US document with your passport; you must be able to show both to the airline and to Mexican immigration.
- Visa-exempt entry is for tourism, business or transit only — no paid activities. Admission and length of stay are decided by the immigration officer at the port of entry.
