Canadian citizens living in the United States can apply for the UAE's Virtual Work Residence Visa — a 1-year residence for remote workers — online through GDRFA Dubai (or ICP), showing remote-work proof and US$3,500/month income.
One-year UAE residence for remote workers employed by, or running a business registered, outside the UAE.

Assemble a colour photo, a passport copy valid 6+ months, evidence of remote work for a company outside the UAE, proof of US$3,500/month income (e.g. 6 months of bank statements), and valid health insurance.
Apply online through the GDRFA Dubai smart-services system (log in with UAE Pass or username) or at an Amer service centre, and pay the service fee.
GDRFA reviews the application; the expected completion time is around 48 hours when all documents are in order.
