Tourist visa (TS/TM) / visa-free visit

Short visits for tourism. Most nationalities (US, Canada, UK, EU, and around 100 more) need no visa — just a valid passport and the free digital e-ticket. Nationalities on the visa list apply for a Tourist visa: TS (60 days, one entry) or TM (60 days, two entries) at a Dominican embassy or consulate. Holders of a valid US, Canada, UK or Schengen visa or permanent residence enter visa-free regardless of nationality (Decree 691-07).

For business trips — the tourist route can be used for tourism only. Business simple (NS): 60 days, one entry; Business multiple (NM): one year, several entries. Requires a company letter and criminal-record certificate; issued by Dominican consulates under MIREX Resolution 01-08.

Residence visa (RS)

The entry visa for foreigners who intend to take up residence in the Dominican Republic — including the rentista, retirement (jubilación) and investment variants (US$200–US$250 consular fee). It is the first step before applying for a residence permit at the Dirección General de Migración.
