The row "Royaume – Uni" in the MFA's visa-regime table shows "Visa d'entrée en Tunisie: NON" — no entry visa is required for British passport holders.
On arrival, border officials have the right to ask for your contact details, your onward or return travel tickets, and proof of a hotel booking or other accommodation — travellers have been denied entry or delayed for lacking sufficient evidence of accommodation.
Make sure border officials stamp your passport on arrival — the stamp is how the length of your stay is checked on departure; overstaying the 90-day period without a valid reason is fined.

- If you overstay the 90-day period without a valid reason you will have to pay a fine — payable on departure at the airport or in advance at some police stations.
- A hotel tax is collected on arrival at your accommodation: 8 Tunisian dinars per person per night for 3-star hotels, 12 for higher categories.
- Border officials run names against an immigration database — passengers with the same or similar names have been delayed and questioned; this has disproportionately affected British nationals of South Asian descent.
- Dual British-Tunisian nationals should enter and leave Tunisia on the same passport.
- Entering with a damaged or torn passport can leave you stuck at exit — check your passport's condition before travelling.
