US citizens can apply for Czechia's Digital Nomad Program — a national route for highly skilled IT or marketing specialists who work remotely for a foreign employer or as a Czech-licensed freelancer. You first apply to be included in the Program with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, then apply for the long-term visa at a Czech embassy/consulate abroad.

The Program is open to citizens of a fixed list of countries including the United States, who must be a highly skilled IT or marketing specialist working remotely for a foreign employer or as a Czech-licensed freelancer.
Assemble the mandatory attachments to the application form: proof of the foreign employer's existence, an affidavit that the employer has at least 50 employees worldwide, an employment contract showing income of at least 1.5x the average gross annual salary and remote-work permission, and proof of education.
Submit your application for inclusion in the Program to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Applications are assessed by the Ministry; there is no legal right to participate.
Once included, submit your long-term visa/long-term residence permit application at the Czech embassy or consulate abroad, with all documents required by law. Processing is within 45 days from submission.

- Proof of the foreign employer's existence — A document similar to an extract from the commercial register documenting the existence of the foreign employer, plus an affidavit that the employer has at least 50 employees worldwide. ✓ 確認済み

- Proof of education — For an IT specialist: completed university or higher professional STEM education, or proven IT experience of at least 3 years. For a marketing specialist: completed higher professional or university education of at least three years in marketing, advertising or related disciplines. ✓ 確認済み
- Documents required by law for the visa — With the long-term visa application, all documents required by law (criminal record, document on the purpose of stay, proof of accommodation, proof of funds, etc.); all must be original or notarized copies and not older than 180 days, except the travel document and registry documents. ✓ 確認済み

- This is a TWO-STAGE national process — first you apply for inclusion in the Program with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, then for the long-term visa at a Czech embassy/consulate abroad; it is not a Schengen short-stay visa.
- There is no legal right to participate in the Program; applications are assessed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
- The freelancer route requires a Czech business (trade) licence in an IT-related or marketing field; the employee route requires a foreign employer with at least 50 employees worldwide.
