Canadian citizens can apply for the UAE's Virtual Work Residence Visa — a 1-year residence for remote workers — online through GDRFA Dubai, showing remote-work proof and US$3,500/month income.

Assemble a colour photo, a passport copy valid 6+ months, evidence of remote work for a company outside the UAE, proof of US$3,500/month income (e.g. 6 months of bank statements), and valid health insurance.
Apply online through the GDRFA Dubai smart-services system (log in with UAE Pass or username) or at an Amer service centre, and pay the service fee.
GDRFA reviews the application; the expected completion time is around 48 hours when all documents are in order.

- 予約枠は公開スケジュールなしでバッチ単位で解放されます。多くの場合、現地の早朝、月曜日の午前中、毎月1日前後に解放されます。
- 人気のある領事館（大都市のフランス・イタリア・スペインなど）では、新しい枠が数分でなくなることがあります。事前に登録・ログインした状態で確認してください。
- キャンセルにより日中も枠が空くことがあるため、「空きなし」と表示されていても毎日確認してください。
- できるだけ早く申請してください。出発の最大6か月前から申請可能です。1〜2か月前まで待つと、枠がまったく残っていないことがほとんどです。

- Your work and income must come from OUTSIDE the UAE — the visa does not permit working for a UAE employer.
- You must hold valid UAE health insurance for the residence to be issued.
- The residence is for 1 year and is renewed by re-applying and re-proving eligibility.
