On the official MFA visa-regime table, China appears as visa-free for ordinary ("N") passports — so no visa is needed in advance for a short visit. Kazakhstan's visa-free regime covers tourist, guest and business purposes.
Ordinary-passport holders of China may stay visa-free up to 30 days per visit under the official visa-regime table. For a longer stay you would need an e-Visa or a consular visa.
You receive your visa-free entry stamp on arrival — a valid passport is all you need to cross. After arrival, your receiving party (host, hotel or inviting company) must notify the Migration Service; this can be done online via the Visa and Migration Portal (vmp.gov.kz).

- Host / accommodation details for migration registration — The address and details of the person or hotel hosting you, so they can notify the Migration Service within three working days of your arrival (done online via vmp.gov.kz or eQonaq, or by the hotel automatically). ✓ موثّق
