The e-Tourist Visa is applied for entirely online — no visa centre, appointment or interview. Applicants living in the United States apply on the official portal just like from anywhere else.
- Apply only on the official portal indianvisaonline.gov.in — many lookalike sites charge extra fees.
- An e-Visa is permission to travel, not a guarantee of entry — the immigration officer decides on arrival.
- Enter and exit India only through the designated airports and seaports listed on the portal.
