US citizens can apply for Colombia's Visa V Nómadas Digitales to work remotely for foreign companies — apply online via the Cancillería portal, show foreign income of at least 3 Colombian minimum monthly wages, and hold all-risk health insurance for the stay.
Colombia's Visitor (V) visa sub-category for digital nomads — remote work or telework from Colombia, via digital means, exclusively for foreign companies, as an employee or independent worker, or to start a digital-content or IT venture (Resolución 5477 de 2022, Artículo 46).

The Visa V Nómadas Digitales is for remote work or telework from Colombia, via digital means and the internet, exclusively for foreign companies. You must hold a passport from a country exempt from a short-stay visa for Colombia.
Obtain a letter (in Spanish or English) from one or more foreign companies you provide services to, stating the type of relationship and remuneration; attach your contract if you have one, or proof you are a partner/co-owner working remotely.
Show, via bank statements for the last 3 months, minimum income equal to 3 Colombian monthly minimum wages (smlmv); and buy a health-insurance policy covering Colombia against all risks (accident, illness, maternity, disability, hospitalisation, death or repatriation) for the stay.
Fill in the electronic visa application form available on the Cancillería website, and upload a recent colour digital photo (white background, max 300 kb) and your passport copy.

- All-risk health insurance policy — A health-insurance policy with coverage in Colombian territory against all risks — accident, illness, maternity, disability, hospitalisation, death or repatriation — for the duration of the stay. ✓ موثّق

- This visa does not allow working or doing paid activity with any person or company domiciled in Colombia — foreign income only.
- Income must be at least 3 Colombian legal monthly minimum wages (smlmv), shown via bank statements for the last 3 months.
- Validity is up to two (2) years and beneficiaries (dependants) of the main holder may be included.
- Nationalities exempt from a short-stay visa can also enter visa-free with an Entry Permit for up to 90 days (extendable to 180 days/year) if no payments come from Colombian companies — but that is not the V visa.
